| We understand there are many choices for dance and gymnastics in the area. We appreciate that you have chosen Diamond. We want your experience here to be an enjoyable one. Please take our policies and procedures as our way of keeping an organized, safe and friendly environment for all. CONTACTING OUR STAFF: Feel free to contact the director or instructor by telephone at 913-851-7500. Each instructor has been appointed a voice mailbox and will return calls in a timely manner. Please note that most instructors are part time. Should you have a matter that requires immediate attention, please notify the Department Director. ENROLLMENT SCHEDULE: Enrollment takes place twice a year. Fall class enrollment takes place in July. Summer class enrollment takes place in April. STUDENTS MUST HAVE A PAYMENT PASS FOR THE DECEMBER & MARCH TRIMESTERS FRONT DESK must be notified if a student is dropping from a class. PAYMENT WILL BE EXPECTED IF NOT NOTIFIED Please note: new students may enroll at anytime during the month and class fees will be prorated. REGISTRATION FEES: REGISTRATION FEES ARE DUE IN SEPTEMBER FOR EVERY CHILD. PRORATED REGISTRATION FEES WILL BE GIVEN IF YOU ENROLL DURING THE DECEMBER THRU AUGUST TRIMESTERS. CLASS FEES: CLASS FEES ARE DUE BEFORE THE 1ST DAY OF EVERY SESSION 1ST SESSION (last week of SEPT, OCT, NOV TRIMESTER) 2ND SESSION (DEC, JAN, FEB TRIMESTER) 3RD SESSION (MAR, APR, MAY TRIMESTER) 4TH SESSION (JUNE, JULY, AUG TRIMESTER) A $30.00 late fee will apply to any account in which payment is not received by the determined dates above. Late fees will NOT be waived. WITHDRAW FROM A CLASS: Should a student choose to drop a class during or at the end of a trimester, the parent or guardian is responsible for notifying the front desk (not INSTRUCTOR) otherwise trimester payment is expected and the student’s participation is assumed. CREDITS AND REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE MISSED CLASSES: Gymnastics Students will make up during Open Gym 1. YOU MUST OBTAIN A PASS FROM YOUR CHILD'S INSTRUCTOR. 2. MAKE UPS MUST BE DONE WITHIN THE TRIMESTER OF THE MISSED CLASS. 3. THIS WILL NOT BE A CLASS. 4. STUDENTS WILL WORK INDEPENDENTLY. 5. MAKE UPS ARE NOT OFFERED FOR DANCE OR CHILDREN 4 YRS & UNDER. 6. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SCHEDULE THE MAKE UP IN ADVANCE. 7. MISSED CLASSES WILL NOT BE PRORATED OR REFUNDED CANCELLATION OF CLASSES: Diamond will follow the Blue Valley School District closing for inclement weather ONLY. However, Diamond DOES NOT FOLLOW the BVS district “days off” schedule. Credits or refunds are not given when Diamond closes due to inclement weather. Diamond reserves the right to combine or cancel any class. If a class is canceled, we will notify you immediately and make every effort to find a class that is appropriate for the student. SAFETY FIRST: Please refrain from dropping students off early or picking them up late. Do not leave your children unattended at anytime. Students must wait INSIDE the building until their ride has arrived, REGARDLESS of their age. Please do not park at the curb for drop off or pick up. This is for the safety of YOUR children. Visiting children must remain with parents at all times. A Release and Waiver form must be read and signed by the parent or legal guardian of any student utilizing the facility. This policy pertains to enrolled and non-enrolled students participating in any program at Diamond. Parents are not allowed in the gymnastic facility for any reason, except parent assisted classes. REQUIRED DRESS ATTIRE: GYMNASTICS students wear a leotard and must be barefoot. Male gymnasts wear a t-shirt and shorts or sweat pants. All shirts MUST be tucked in at all times. Sport bras and mid-drift shirts are not allowed. Hair must be SECURED in a ponytail. NO jewelry is allowed. DANCE Ballet: Pink tights, black leotard and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back in a secure bun. Short ballet skirts and ballet sweaters are the only acceptable attire in addition to the above mentioned. Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop: Prefer solid colored leotard with black jazz pants or bike shorts. Hair must be securely pulled back. No jewelry allowed. Tap and jazz shoes required, black in color is preferred. Shorts, t-shirts, sports bras, and mid-drifts are NOT allowed. Students will not be allowed to participate in class if proper attire is not worn. OBSERVATION OF CLASSES: Preschool Gymnastics and Recreational gymnastics classes may be observed at any time. Visitors may observe dance classes during the last full week of every trimester. Please be respectful of others in keeping the noise volume down. NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF OBSERVATION ROOM. WE WOULD LIKE OUR FACILITY TO REMAIN SANITARY FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN.
