Diamond’s Annual Bunny Hop Meet

The Bunny Hop meet is a fun, recreational “competition” for all of Diamond’s recreational gymnasts! We encourage all students (boys, girls, tumblers, and even preschoolers) to participate! Simple routines, displaying the skills being learned in each level, will be taught during class. At the Bunny Hop meet, the gymnasts will perform their routines in each event for a chance to score a perfect 10! A smiling instructor will always be close by for help, keeping this gymnastics meet pressure-free! All participants will leave feeling good about themselves, and loaded with ribbons and medals!

The 2012 Bunny Hop Meet will be Saturday, April 21st at 3pm

For more information, or to sign up, stop by the front desk or call Diamond at (913) 851-7500.

Does your child love competing in meets like Turkey Trot and Bunny Hop?

Try out for Diamond’s recreational competitive team! Rec team consists of level 2, 3 and 4 gymnasts of all ages. The girls will work out twice a week as a team, learning new skills, competitive routines, and most importantly: teamwork! Go to local meets in a Diamond leotard and represent our Diamond family!

Have you heard of the Diamond Academy Gymnastics Rec Team yet?

If your daughter just can’t get enough of the gym, or loves competing in meets like the Turkey Trot or Bunny Hop, then Rec Team is the PERFECT fit!

The Rec Team consists of level 2, 3, and 4 gymnasts. The girls work out together as a team for 6-7 hours a week-building teamwork, discipline, and becoming best friends! Your daughter will learn the entire realm of gymnastics skills; from dance to tumbling on the floor, vault, bars and beam. The gymnasts will learn routines and use them while competing in roughly 6 local meets, both as a team and individually. And they get to wear a Diamond competitive leotard and warm-up!

Come to tryouts to see if Rec Team is a good fit for your daughter. During tryouts, the girls will work out with current team members, including warm-up and conditioning during all four events!

Tryouts are Thursday, March 22nd from 4:00-7:30. and Saturday, March 24th from 11:00-2:30.

For more information about the Diamond Academy Rec Team, or to sign up for tryouts, please call Diamond Academy at (913) 851-7500.

What is Competitive Cheer?

Competitive Cheer is...

A fast-paced, hybrid combination of stunting, tumbling, jumping, and dancing compacted into a 2 minute 30 second routine. There is no cheering for other teams here, we are the sport! We live to compete.

Competitive Cheer is available to boys and girls ages 3-18.  Our athletes are placed onto teams based on their skill level, which can range from Level 1 Intro to Level 5 Advanced. We teach skills from cartwheels to double fulls; there is a spot for everyone!

Diamond Cheer is a fairly new program in Overland Park, currently competing in its 3rd season. Don't let the newness fool you, we have made a huge impact and created a name for ourselves in the local competitive cheerleading market. Diamond Cheer has doubled in size each year of it's existence, and currently has teams and athletes ages 3-18 levels 1-5.

Our 2011-2012 Competitive Teams:

Tiny Level 1 - Ages 3-5
Mini Level 1 - Ages 6-8
Youth Level 1 - Ages 9-11
Junior Level 4 - Ages 9-14
Senior Level 2 - Ages 8-16

All of our teams only practice 2 days a week, which allows our athletes to gain experiences with other sports and school activities. Team practices include tumbling class, which are taught by a competitive gymnastics coach, ensuring that your child will learn the proper and safe techniques of tumbling. Our teams mostly compete locally, lessening the commitment for the child and their family.
