Diamond Cheer strives to be one of the safest competitive cheerleading programs in the area. We will individualize our instruction so that we can help each athlete reach their personal

goals. Throughout the process, we hope to instill essential life

skills into each athlete so that they can be leaders not only in the

gym, but in the classroom and workplace. We at Diamond Cheer

pride ourselves on being positive and know we expect our

students to have excellent work ethic, sportsmanship and support,

as well as everyday teamwork and people skills.

Program Cost:

Competitive Cheerleading, while not as costly as other competitive sports, can still be costly. Please

carefully consider the financial commitment involved. Diamond Cheer offers incredible rates for our

competitive athletes. Our monthly tuition is comparable or cheaper than other local gyms. Competitive

packages include tumbling and conditioning. We will do our best to keep extra expenses to a minimum.

We will not have any “hidden fees”. We will provide our families upfront with our tuition fees and estimates

of uniforms, competition fees, choreography/music fees, and any other expenses that may occur

throughout the season. Fundraising is ENCOURAGED! We will compose a fundraising committee to

schedule fundraising events throughout the season.

Be a part of the quickest growing program in Overland Park!

We offer teams for boys and girls ages 3-18 for all ability levels.

Tiny Team 3-5 years old - level 1 beginner

Mini 6-8 years old - level 1 beginner

Youth 11 and under - Level 1-3

Junior 14 - and under - Level 2-5

Senior 18 and under Level 2-5

Each athlete is required to learn a cheer and dance routine. The routine will be very short, and easy to learn. In addition, the athlete will also be evaluated on:

•Jumps

•Motion Placement

•Showmanship

•Tumbling ability, which is not required for all teams.

•Optimum flexibility and athletic ability.

•Attitude and work ethic, willingness to try new skills, and to accept positive criticism.

Tryouts are laidback and as relaxed as possible

We will work together to come up with teams that each have the best possible chance of a successful competitive season. This means that each team would ideally be comprised of a variety of athletes with a variety of talents. After our meetings are completed, we will contact each athlete (or parent) individually to let them know the results of tryouts.

Our goal is to have teams available for athletes of every age and experience level, so the vast majority of athletes attending tryouts will be placed on a team. If an athlete tries out and is not selected for a team, they will be suggested to our class program so that they can gain the experience necessary to be a part of our competitive program.

Coaches

Bri Plassmeyer

Director/Head Coach

Bri has been cheering, tumbling, and dancing for all her life! She has performed and competed throughout the United States. Bri cheered all four years for Blue Springs High School. She was the captain of the two-time State Champion Large Coed team. Bri was a UCA All-Star all four years, and then was recruited to be on UCA Staff. After graduating from BSHS in 2004, Bri was asked to be the Assistant Coach for Blue Springs' All-Girl team in 2005. With her coaching, they advanced to the State Championship for the first time in 8 years, and placed top half in their division. At the college level, Bri cheered for Avila University, who was ranked 3rd nationally in the Division ll All-Girl Division. She received both an athletic and academic scholarship. She has judged many local high schools tryouts, competitions, and showcases. Bri is in her eighth year coaching competitive and recreational cheerleading & tumbling. Along with coaching, Bri does choreography and music for her program, as well as being hired out from local teams. She is USASF certified, as well as CPR/First Aid trained. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Avila University, and was honored to be on the Deans List three years of her undergraduate education.

Nancy Andrade

Coach

Nancy has a wealth of diverse cheer experience. She has cheered through recreational, competitive, high school, and college cheer. After graduating from the Olathe School district, Nancy was recruited to cheer for Allen Community College. Nancy earned her General Studies Associates Degree through Allen County. After completing those two years, Nancy was recruited to cheer for Avila University, who was ranked 3rd nationally in the Division ll All-Girl Division. She received both an athletic and academic scholarship. Nancy then returned to Allen County to coach their Cheer & Dance teams from 2008-2009. Outside of college cheer, Nancy was staff for CTC Stunt camps. She taught individualized cheer and stunt clinics for cheerleaders of all age. Nancy was on staff from 2005-2009. Nancy is also currently on staff for the American Championships, a competitive cheerleading competition host company. She is on their judging panel as a deduction analyst, and is traveled throughout the country to work their competitions. Nancy has been a staff member for the American Championships from 2006-Present. Nancy also is AACCA certified, CPR/First aid certified, as well as a USASF member (2009-present).

Jackie Shank

Team Tumbling Coach

I am 25 years old and from Benton, Arkansas, a suburb of Little Rock. Attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where I attained both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training (Sports Medicine). I did my masters internship with the University gymnastics team as their student athletic trainer.

I was a gymnast from the age of 3 years old and competed as a USAG gymnast through level 8. I was also a member of my high school cheer/dance team for 4 years. I began coaching at the age of 16 with recreational gymnastics and cheer tumbling, then began coaching with the recreational and USAG levels 4-6 in Fayetteville Arkansas when i was 18. I moved to the Kansas City area in Feb 2011 from Connecticut where i was coaching levels 4-10. I also played semi professional soccer in Hartford. I currently coach Diamond's USAG Level 4 & 5 Gymnastics Teams.
